D and I recently celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary. It was exciting! We made it! 3 years! But as with any milestone a good time to reflect.
D and I had been together for 4 years before we got married so that's 7 years total as a couple. And our relationship of course has evolved over those years. Getting married was a big leap. Even though we had been living together, getting married felt different. It was a commitment on a different level.
In the last few years, we've had moments of extreme difficulty and heart-ache, and moments of intense joy and love. In that way the first 3 years of marriage have been a bit of a roller-coaster. But we're as committed and in love as ever. So for the next 3 years (and beyond) what I hope is that things will settle down. That the lessons we've learned the last few years will be valuable and we'll be able to be calm and happy in our life together.
